BIGFOOT in our backyard
With Bigfoot Researcher
Gayle Beatty

Some believe that Bigfoot is nothing more than a myth - an urban (or forest)legend. Others believe that there just might be something to all of those sightings and footprints and Native American lore. But surely such a creature could only remain hidden and survive in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest! Yet some believe he is right here amongst us.

Those who have seen him here - are sure of it!

November 14, 2015: Our American History
A FREE series by the Putnam Valley Historical Society

10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Commander Will Cushing:
Daredevil Hero of the Civil War

With Historian and Author Jamie Malanowski

Tossed out of the Naval Academy for “buffoonery,” Cushing proved himself a prodigy in behind-the-lines warfare. Given command of a small union ship, he performed daring, near-suicidal raids, “cutting out” confederate ships and thwarting blockade runners. Cushing’s exploits grew bolder, culminating in the sinking of the CSS Albemarle in 1864.

In telling Cushing’s story, Malanowski paints a vivid, memorable portrait of the army officials, engineers, and politicians scrambling to win the war. But he also goes deeper into the psychology of the daredevil soldier - and what this heroic and tragic figure, who died before his time, can tell us about the ways we remember the glories of war.

Medium's Message Circle
With
Intuitive Medium Carla Blaha

Message Circles are a wonderful place to feel you are connecting to The Universal Source and to learn that there really is life after life.  In a message Circle you will sit in a friendly environment and receive information, guidance and messages.  Carla receives her information in forms of symbols and impressions.  Everyone that goes to a Circle is there for a reason.  Sometimes a crossed loved one needs to get a message across, sometimes advice is needed and sometimes you just need to be told what your gut already know.

If you believe that life continues beyond what we see and that we are guided from the other side as well as our own intuition, a Message Circle is something you might really enjoy!

An Object of Great Importance:
The Hudson Valley During the War for Independence

With Historian, Author and Educator Christopher DiPasquale

“During the American Revolution the Hudson River was not just a waterway. It was a lifeline, a vital artery on which the cause of liberty depended. Along its banks and in its waters, many would die for what they believed in. Neighbors would fight neighbors and a serene countryside would become a frightening place, where cowboys” and “skinners” crept through the dark landscape. It was the object at the center of America’s most notorious treason. Benedict Arnold would try to sell the vital Hudson for his own gain. Both he and the British knew that if it fell the lifeline would be cut and the cause of liberty would drown in its cold grey waters. The struggles of the men, who defended it through harsh weather, lagging muster rolls, and ill-designed fortifications, could truly say that it was they who continued the cause and birthed a nation.”
